Anthropic Claude: Introducing 100K Context Windows

Claude, an AI language model, has expanded its context window from 9K to 100K tokens, allowing it to analyze hundreds of pages of materials and engage in conversations for hours or even days. The average person can read 100K tokens of text in around 5+ hours, while Claude can do it in less than a minute. Claude can retrieve information from multiple documents and answer complex questions, making it a valuable tool for businesses. With 100K context windows, Claude can digest, summarize, and explain dense documents, analyze strategic risks and opportunities, assess the pros and cons of legislation, identify risks and themes across legal documents, and surface answers to technical questions. Rapid prototyping is also possible by dropping an entire codebase into the context and building on or modifying it. The 100K context windows are now available in the API, and businesses can request access to Claude. Partners are excited about the possibilities that larger context windows bring to their businesses, and AssemblyAI demonstrated how Claude can transcribe a long podcast into 58K words and then use it for summarization and Q&A.
