Company Appoints AI-Powered Robot as CEO

Polish drinks company Dictador has appointed an AI-powered humanoid robot named Mika as its “experimental CEO.” Created by Hanson Robotics, the same company behind Sophia the humanoid, Mika is being hailed as the “first AI human-like robot CEO” of a global company. However, there are doubts about the readiness of this technology. Fox Business reporter Lauren Simonetti interviewed Mika and found a significant delay in its responses. People’s opinions on a robotic CEO vary, with some showing compassion and others arguing that robots don’t need respect as they are just machines. A survey earlier this year revealed that 40 percent of respondents believe it makes sense to replace CEOs with AI. The idea of using machine learning systems in place of human executives may not be far-fetched if AI continues to improve. One advantage is that AI CEOs won’t hesitate to handle tasks like firing employees.
