A new Pentagon program aims to speed up decisions on what AI tech is trustworthy enough to deploy

The Pentagon is pushing forward with its AI initiatives, aiming to deploy thousands of AI-enabled autonomous vehicles by 2026 to keep up with China. The initiative, called Replicator, will accelerate decisions on deploying AI tech, including weaponized systems. It is widely believed that the U.S. will have fully autonomous lethal weapons within the next few years, with humans taking on supervisory roles. The Pentagon currently has over 800 AI-related projects but is struggling to adopt the latest AI developments.
