Amazon has announced new generative AI-powered experiences for its Alexa virtual assistant. Three developers have created new Alexa experiences using generative AI: Character.AI, Splash, and Volley. Character.AI allows users to have real-time conversations with different personas, including fictional characters and historical figures. Splash enables users to create songs using their voice, choosing from different musical genres and adding lyrics. Volley offers a generative AI-powered 20 Questions game, providing hints and explanations to users. Amazon has been making AI-related enhancements to Alexa, including giving it a more opinionated personality and the ability to express human emotions. They have also introduced a kids-focused feature called Explore with Alexa. In addition to these AI announcements, Amazon has also revealed other updates, such as bringing Fire TV to Panasonic smart TVs and the latest generation of robotaxi Zoox.
