OpenAI has announced that its GPT Store, which was initially planned for a November launch, will now be released in early 2024. The delay is attributed to the recent leadership shakeup at the company. OpenAI introduced its GPT Builder tool in November, allowing users to create their own custom AI bots. The GPT Store was intended to provide a platform for users to list their GPTs and potentially earn money from them. OpenAI stated in an email to GPT Builder users that they have been busy with unexpected tasks, leading to the delay. The company has been working on improving GPTs based on user feedback and has promised updates to ChatGPT. OpenAI recently underwent a reorganization, with Sam Altman returning as CEO, Mira Murati as CTO, and Greg Brockman as President. Microsoft, OpenAI’s largest investor, now has representation on the company’s initial board.
