Airtable has introduced AI summarization, categorization, and translation features for its users, making it the latest platform to leverage generative AI as a productivity tool. This move aligns with the trend of companies like Microsoft and Google integrating AI into their productivity offerings. The new AI-powered features enable users to quickly grasp information within their workspace, automatically apply categories and tags, and route action items to the relevant team. Additionally, users can generate emails or social posts and translate data into other languages while maintaining the original tone. These AI capabilities were beta tested with over 1,200 organizations, including AWS, and are available through different AI models, such as OpenAI’s GPT-3.5 and GPT-4, and Anthropics Claude model. The AI features are a paid, opt-in option, with a free trial of 500 AI credits and subsequent payment of $6 per seat per month. Admins can selectively activate the functionality for specific workspaces or all users. Overall, Airtable’s AI integration aims to enhance productivity by leveraging AI for content generation and information organization.
