Google has launched its generative AI chatbot, Bard, in the European Union (EU) after addressing data privacy concerns. Bard is now available in over 40 languages and has introduced new features, including the ability to change the tone and style of its responses, vocalize its responses, export code to Replit, analyze uploaded images, and share responses through links. Google claims that Bard has improved in areas like math and programming and has gained extensions from Google’s own apps and third-party partners. However, Google faced initial challenges with Bard, as it provided factually incorrect answers and was criticized by employees. Bloomberg also reported that the humans training Bard are overworked and underpaid. Despite these issues, Google is positioning Bard as a tool to explore curiosity, augment imagination, and help users build on their ideas.
