Geoffrey Hinton and John Hopfield have made history by being awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for their contributions to artificial intelligence, specifically in the development of artificial neural networks. They will share a prize of 11 million Swedish kronor ($1.06 million). Hinton, often referred to as a godfather of AI, is known for his warnings about the risks associated with the technology he helped create, expressing regret over his life’s work.
